Daycare Gifts

Sadie goes to daycare Monday-Thursday from 7 a.m.- noon. I then pick her up and take her to my mom's where we eat lunch, play, and then I put her down for a nap, then I head back to work from 1-6 p.m. It makes for some long days with little time to do anything else, but it's so worth it to have a three day weekend. I'm just really lucky to have such a great job that's close to home and a wonderful mother and sister that give her all the attention she could ever ask for! Sadie's daycare is great too, because they are wonderful people that truly love her and it gives her a chance to interact with other kids. They had a Christmas party yesterday, and Sadie had a blast. They made these cute reindeer ears, made her a stocking full of yummy goodies, gave her an Elmo toy (her favorite) and gave us a frame that Sadie had painted with a picture of her in it. They also frosted cookies, and ate pizza. Sadie loves to go there and I know she's well taken care of. Sadie also loves to go to grandma's house and play with her aunt Cami! Poor Sadie is left with boring ol' me Friday-Sunday :)

Santa Scary

Santa Clause Encounters: 5
Actually siting on Santa's lap: 0
Barely getting close enough to get a present: 4

Sadie loves Santa (from far away)- she talks about him all the time. Sometimes she says "Santa scary", and we told her "no Santa is funny and nice". So now whenever Sadie says "Santa scary", she quickly follows up with a smile and says "no Santa funny, nice". She also figured out pretty quick that Santa gives her a present, so by the time we got to the 5th Santa Clause, she wasn't as nervous about it, but she was still all business- no talking or sitting on his lap, just grab the present and get out!

Crazy month

I love this time of year, but it's so crazy! Here's a few things we've been up to....

Drew had surgery on his ankle. Apparently, he had an old injury that was causing him major problems. He has yet to figure out what the "old injury" was exactly, but it caused some serious problems in his ankle joint. After the surgery the doctor informed me that is was "really ugly in there". Apparently there was a lot of scar tissue and cartilage just floating around in his ankle joint, so hopefully whatever the doctor did will work, and Drew's ankle will start feeling good again.
We went to the NFR in Las Vegas last week. Lots of fun! It makes me miss rodeo. Check out our awesome seats!

And finally, this is what happens when I'm at work, so Drew has to pick up Sadie and get her ready to go to the festival of trees....
You can never go wrong with just throwing on a hat when your hair isn't quite right, but come on...did it have to be that hat??? j/k honey. Thanks for all your help with Sadie!

Puerto Rico

Drew and I went to Puerto Rico the first week in November. Basically, all the sales reps from his company and their wives go, along with their clients that purchased enough products throughout the year to "qualify" for the trip. Drew's also a manger, so that's why we went on both trips this year. We stayed at the Rio Mar Resort. It was amazing- we basically hung out at the beach and by the pool all day.

You can't really see me, but you can get a good idea of what the resort looks like.

Drew is sneaking up on the iguana. There were a few of these things that hung out at the resort. At one point this thing decided to jump in the pool for a cool swim, and all the kids started screaming like it was a crocodile or something. It was hilarious.

Hope you can see us. We kind of blend in with the white sand :)

One of the nights (on my Birthday), we went to something called the Bioluminescent Bay. There is a microorganism in the lagoon that causes the water to glow when you touch it. It was so cool! We had to kayak up a canal to get to the lagoon in the dark. It was kind of creepy, but so worth it!

Sadie's 2nd Birthday

Sadie turned 2 on November 1, so we celebrated with a party.

My friend Jenn, helped me make this Elmo cake. (okay, Jenn did most of the work, but I was very supportive.) It turned out so cute! Sadie is obsessed with Elmo, so she loved it.

Sadie loves to "cook", so we got her this mini kitchen.

My mom gave her this little rocking chair. It was made by the Amish
Sadie had to walk around the room and show everyone her new clothes.

Her first gun! Yikes!

At Sadie's 2 year old appointment she was in the 75% for height and head circumference, and her weight in the 50%, so she's still pretty average- (except that she has very little hair!)

Favorite things to eat: Elmo crackers, fruit snacks, peas, pancakes, beans, chicken, and her most favorite- Mac N Cheese. (anytime I ask her what she wants to eat, her response is always Mac N Cheese.)

Favorite songs to sing: ABCs (she can sing this all by herself and is very clear), ittsy bittsy spider, twinkle twinkle little star, and jingle bells. Sadie loves to sing. She even tries to sing with the congregation at church.

Favorite things to play: cook, peak a boo, and dolls. She has a doll bed, and most of the time Sadie will say the doll is sleeping, but sometimes Sadie will put the doll in the bed and say "time out".

She knows her colors and learns new words everyday. She's very curious and observant. She now points at things and asks "what's that?" The crazy thing is that she always remembers, so she never asks me about the same thing twice.

Potty training is not going so well. You would think a child that knows the ABCs can also go to the potty, but she's pretty insistent on not using it.

She is so much fun to be around, and always surprises me with the things she learns. She is always putting a smile on my face. We are so blessed to have her in our home!

Happy Halloween!!!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for helping Sadie carve her pumpkin!

Yikes!!! Who gave the almost 2 year old a knife???
That scooper is much better!
Sadie was Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street. She loves Elmo the most, but Abby is a close second.

I also can't help but think that at this time two years ago, I was in labor....I thought for sure Sadie would be born on Halloween, but luckily she held off for a couple more hours just after midnight!
