Honesty

This was Sadie's always honest comment from a few days ago.

"I'm nice, so Santa will bring me presents,........but I'm a little bit mean too."

She must have felt guilty saying she was nice, becasue her time-out for pushing her cousin was still fresh in her memory :)

Update on Sadie

I had these done for Sadie's favorite Aunt Cami Jo for Christmas.

So for journaling purposes- here's what's new with Sadie- (Christmas and winter pics coming soon!)

At her 3 year old wellness check-up we found that she is in the 30% for height, and the 80% for weight. Think about that for a minute, and yes, she is a little on the chubby side compared to other kids her age. The doctor kindly used the words "disproportionate", and that she will eventually even out, but that she will probably be on the shorter side. (we of course, think she's perfect!)
Her favorite colors are purple, and pink. She's very into princesses right now- her favorite is Belle, from Beauty and the Beast. She tells me that the beast was not nice, but now he is, and he turns into a prince, and kissed Belle. Sadie giggles anytime a princess is kissed in a movie. She also really likes Snow White. Of all the Disney princess movies, it surprises me that this is one of her favorites- this movie was made 60 years ago, can it really be that entertaining for that old of a movie? (YES!).

She finally has a hair style! How exciting is that?! She loves for me to do her hair. The daycare that she goes to does the cutest hairdos- so I get all my ideas from them. Sadie still loves her daycare, and going to grandma's house while I'm at work. If fact, on Thursday nights I tell her, "you get to stay and play with mommy all day tomorrow", and she simply says, "no, I want to go to Sandy's and Grandma's". You would think that this would make me feel bad, and it does a little, but I'm mostly glad, and feel better knowing that she's loved, taken care of, and has fun when I'm not there. I would feel very guilty and sad if I had to take her to daycare kicking and screaming.

She remembers everything! Really, she blows me away everyday with the stuff that she says and can remember.

She loves to sing and tell stories, but only at home. She gets really quiet around people she doesn't know very well, but once she warms up to someone, watch out- she won't stop talking!

She loves her gymnastics class and likes to show us her "tricks".

She loves to get dressed by herself, and when she wears the beautiful dress that Grandma bought her, Sadie will say her name is "Sadie Taylor Swift". Sadie can even recognize Taylor Swift's voice on the radio, even if she hasn't heard the song before.
She does NOT like chocolate. (weird.) Instead she prefers crackers and fruit snakes as a tasty treat.

Sadie is becoming more and more helpful at home, and is a really good girl.

If I could describe Sadie in 4 words it would be girly, girl, girly, girl. She is way into hair, clothes, makeup, sparkles, and princesses. Really....she's more of a girl than I am, and she's only 3!

We love Sadie so much! She makes us smile and laugh every day, and I love kissing her chubby cheeks!

Hawaii

Our trip to Hawaii was wonderful!

Our resort- The Fairmont Orchid in Kona

In between snorkeling and hanging out on the beach and by the pool, we went on a helicopter ride to see the valleys and waterfalls.

We also rented a Harley for one day, and drove around the island.

Hunting Pheasants

Happy Birthday Sadie

Happy 3rd Birthday!

Sadie Monkey

Drew has wanted Sadie to be a monkey for Halloween since the day she was born, so I finally gave in this year and bought a monkey costume. I'm very glad I did, because she looks adorable! She was even jumping around in circles, and looked like a real monkey. I've never laughed so hard!

Prague, Czech Republic

For our annual trips with Drew's work, we went to Prague the first week in October, and then we are off to Hawaii in November.

Prague was absolutely gorgeous. It's the most well preserved city in Europe, with amazing architecture and rich history. Here are just a few of our pictures....

Terezin Jewish Memorial- This was one of the prisons used in WWII by the Germans. Many Jews and politicians were tortured here, those that survived were sent to concentration camps for extermination. (a very humbling experience)

At one point there were 90 people living in this room.
cemetery- many of the graves don't have a name on them.

Cesky Krulov- this very cute little medieval village is located in the small mountains in Southern Czech Republic. (Austria was just over the hill).

We also took a trip to Dresden, Germany for a day. This city was bombed during WWII, so everything has been restored. Very beautiful!
This is a cathedral. The black stones are original, and the white part is about five years old (restored to its original architecture.) Eventually, the white sandstone will become black over time.

This is the City of Prague, with pictures of castles, cathedrals and architecture.

Little Angels

Our primary program practice last week was hellacious!...the kids were irreverent, they didn't sing, they didn't know their parts, or go where they were suppose to, kids were crying, jumping off chairs, running up to the mic and screaming in it, plus we had 10 new kids that I had to make fit and add parts for. (I'm very glad to have the new kids- it just adds to the stress!)

I had nightmares every night about something going terrible wrong! and can you blame me? (see above).

But there was a miracle, and everything went smoothly and the kids were like little angles for the program on Sunday! Why is that? I'm sure other wards have similar experiences, because I remember the same thing happened last year- the practice was awful, and somehow, someway, when it's time for the "real deal", the kids are on their best behavior- and did awesome! Not to mention they were completely adorable!

I love the Primary! The children put a huge smile on my face every Sunday!

Sadie's Prayer

Sadie usually says her prayers by herself, but lately she's been asking me to help her.

Here's how it went last night-

Me: Heavenly Father..........please help us to be nice

Sadie: no, I don't want to be nice

Me: please help us to share

Sadie: no, I don't want to share.

Me: Sadie, Jesus wants us to be nice and share, it will make him happy.

Sadie: It will make Jesus happy?

Me: Yes.

Sadie: Okay. Please help us to share and be nice........Amen.

Me: Thank you for being a good girl Sadie. Jesus is so happy.

Sadie: Where is Jesus? (we hear a bump downstairs). Is that Jesus? Hurry, shut the door, so he can't come in!
