18 month stats

We went to the Wilson cabin and then we went camping over Memorial weekend, but it rained tons, so I didn't get any pictures. Maybe next time. We also went to the Taylor Swift concert last night, it was so good! It was the best concert I've been to.

Sadie had her 18 mon. appointment yesterday, and here's the stats:

Length: 32.25, 50%
Weight: 25 lb., 50%

Head circ.:48.25, upper 75%

So she's pretty average.

Sadie's favorite thing to eat is "cookies" (of course), but she also east her fruits and vegetable really well, and she loves to drink milk, but she'll also drink juice and water. She's starting to get a little more picky with her food, but it just depends on the day. (for example, some days she'll eat peas and some days she won't.) He favorite fruit is bananas (she calls them apples- for some reason, every fruit to her is an apple) and her favorite vegetable is green beans.

Sadie says so many words that I can't even count them. and she says her words very clearly. The only word that's way off the pronunciation is when she says my sister's name, Cami, Sadie actually pronounces it as "Abby". She can say "Ca", and "mi", but apparently she can't put the two together, or maybe that's just Sadie's own nickname for Cami; however, we are now starting to call Cami "Abby", we sometimes joke about Cami needing to change her name. Some of my favorite words from Sadie are: dance, love you, see ya, monkey, Elmo, hat, shoes, crash, bonk, Katie (our dog), cracker, book, na-night, cute, pretty, and no no. (whenever I hear Sadie say "no no" I have to turn around, because she's doing something she shouldn't be doing, like playing with the remote control, or touching the computer keyboard.) She knows and can say lots of body parts like eyes, ears, teeth, mouth, cheeks, nose, feet, toes, belly, bum, legs, and fingers.

She has a funny personality with lots of facial expressions. Her favorite thing to watch is Sesame Street with Elmo. Her favorite song is "twinkle twinkle little star". When she wants to hear it she says "twinkle" and closes and opens her hands. She likes to dance by turning in a circle, or by quickly moving her feet up and down in place. She is very very busy. Always moving and playing.

She is also very observant. she watches everything we do and tries to mimic. The other day she got a hold of one of my makeup brushed and pretended to put makeup on her face. She also got a hold of the curling iron and was trying to curl her hair (the curling iron was off by the way). It was so cute! This also means that I need to be on my very best behavior :). Whenever she's in a new place or around new people, she likes to just sit and watch what's going on.

Sadie really is such a good baby. Even though she runs around and tears my house apart, I'd much rather her be like this than having her cry all the time like she did as a newborn.

Veins

so I have varicose veins in my leg (the large, blue, ropey, wormy looking ones). crazy hu? I thought you had to be old to get those, but apparently not. In fact the doctor told me that anyone can get them and for no apparent reason, so I'm one of those lucky people. The veins on my left leg looked awful, and they were starting to get sore, so I did some research and found that insurance would pay to have them removed, so last Friday, I had the veins taken out of my leg and had a procedure done where the doctor inserted a catheter through my vein and then released something that caused my vein to melt and collapse. (the doctor explained it better than that.) I was awake for the whole thing! They just numbed my leg with a thousand shots. (well not a thousand, it was probably more like 15). After about the 8th or 9th shot, I started freaking out and honestly thought I was going to pass out, so they gave me another dose of Zanex, and soon after that I was in a much happier place :) After the procedure, Drew drove me home and I was in my other world for the rest of the day, but I was not at all in pain. In fact, I didn't need any pain medication. I was up and walking around just fine. They took all the bandages off on Monday, and I was surprised to see how black and blue and swollen my leg was, because I actually felt really good.  I would definitely recommend this to anyone that has varicose veins. I have some small ones on my right leg that I'm going to have removed also before they get worse. I seriously thought about posting a picture of my leg, but it's still pretty gross, so I'm posting a pretty picture of Sadie instead :) I can't tell if she's smelling the flower or trying to eat it.

You people better thank me for researching this comments thing. You would not believe what I had to go through. I must have really screwed something up when I set up my blogger account, and then I think it further complicated things when blogger made some updates. Anyways, I am now a blog expert. I know all about widgets, templates, HTML, post options, and popup windows. So please feel free to ask questions. Okay, so I really don't know everything about all of those things, but I feel like I should, especially since it's now 11 p.m. (5:45 a.m. is going to come pretty early when I have to get up for work, especially because I still have to get Sadie packed for the babysitters tomorrow and try to make my house look somewhat presentable because Drew returns from a business trip tomorrow, and I'm sure he would appreciate it if he could find an uncluttered area of the house to put his work stuff when he gets home.) Anyways, Please feel free to leave as many comments as you'd like!

Everyone keeps bugging me to allow comments on my blog, so I go to settings, click on comments, then select "show" and make sure all the other settings match, and it has still never worked, so I figure that at some point I really messed something up. Well today I finally had some time to research the help feature to find out why my blog isn't allowing comments. So I find that it may have something to do with my template, so I go to layout and customize HTML and revert back to a classic template, which has comments, but then I had an old template, and blogger asks me to update to a new one, so I say yes, and then I have no comments. What the heck???? This is seriously driving me nuts! Please help me computer experts! e-mail me at teisha.wilson@hotmail.com for suggestions.

Nursery

Sadie turned 18 months a couple weeks ago, and with that typically comes nursery, except that I starting leaving Sadie in nursery almost two months ago. I'm in the Primary Presidency, so it's hard to try and keep her entertained, (she refuses to sit on my lap for more than 10 seconds), and conduct the meeting, or give a sharing time, or try to keep the children reverent, or making sure that every class has a teacher. So my friend Becky, who watches Sadie for me a day and a half a week while I'm at work, also happens to be the nursery leader in our ward! So when I told Becky how difficult it is to wrestle Sadie during Primary, she suggested that I bring her to nursery, even though it was a little early for her. Sadie was totally ready for nursery, and I already knew that she would be great with Becky, so two months down in nursery and Sadie is loving it!

Happy Mother's Day!

I wanted to say a quick Mother's Day thank you to my mom. She is truly amazing and is a wonderful example to me. She has made so many things possible for me and I'm grateful to have her as my mom. Thank you mom!

We were all so excited to talk to Weston. He is a zone leader in Vacaville, CA, right now. He's been out for 10 months (wow, that went by fast), and he is doing great! We taught Sadie how to say "Uncle Wes", so that was a fun surprise for him to hear.

Spring Camping

Sadie had Bananas for breakfast and when she was done, thought it would be funny to run her sticky fingers through her hair and this is the result. Lesson learned: Bananas make a great hair gel.

New Hair Do

Here's the new hair do. It's the shortest I've ever had my hair in my entire life and I love it! It actually manages to stay like this all day....Why didn't I do this sooner? Thanks Kira!
