Girls will be girls

Sadie got this baby doll for Christmas and she has now suddenly become fascinated with it. She has to comb its hair and brush its teeth. She even likes to try and put ribbons in the baby's hair. It's so funny to me how she's fit into the role of "girl". (I didn't tell her to do the baby doll's hair.) Also, Sadie loves to have her hair done. She practically begs me in the mornings to do her hair. She also loves purses. She has a couple of her own that she likes to carry around and put things in...she's also obsessed with my purse....wanting to hold it and put it on her shoulder. She also has a shoe obsession! No joke! She lOVES shoes....even more than myself. She has to have them on her feet and she gets all gitty when we are at the store trying them on. In fact, the only time she throws a fit when we are at the store, is when we walk by the shoes and I don't try them on her. So it's now our routine to stop by the shoe section and try on a few. This has entertainment value for me too, because when she tries the shoes on she giggles with excitement. (Luckily we don't have to buy the shoes....right now she's content to just try them on). She also loves the word "pretty" and "cute", and most of the time when she says them she's referring to herself....her cute bow, bracelet, necklace (that she steals from me), dress, hair, and of course her shoes. She loves to show daddy how cute all of these things are on herself. I tried to get her to play with a couple of her cousin's toy trucks, thinking she might like something new, but she wanted nothing to do with the trucks. Girls are just wired to be girls and boys are wired to be boys. (most of the time)
