Getting out of Church (part 2)

SO in church on Sunday, sure enough, right during the sacrament Sadie starts saying “pooped, pooped, bum, bum” again and points to her bum and then the exit door. (this time I know for sure she didn’t poop because she pooped right before we left for church!). I told her she was fine, and that she didn’t poop. So she goes out into the isle where everyone can see her and starts grunting and groaning, and her face turns red like she’s trying to poop. She does this for a few seconds and then she must have tooted, because she looks up and grins and says “pooped!”. We again tell her she was okay. (and try our very best not to laugh hysterically). And of course that did not go over well, but she got over it quickly and she was good the rest of the meeting. She even fell asleep on my lap, which never happens!

Getting out of Church

Bare with me here on some of these entries because this is my journal and want to remember these funny things about Sadie....

So we're in church on Sunday and we hadn't even made it to the sacrament yet, and Sadie tells me that she pooped. (Sometimes she tells me when she's soiled her diaper, but most of the time she doesn't.) She doesn't smell, so I figure that she went number 1 instead, so I grab a diaper, take her out to the bathroom and change her, then we come back. A few minutes later- Sadie tells me that she pooped again. I checked her bum and there was no sign of number 1 or number 2, so I told her she was fine and handed her a book. Well, that certainly was not what she wanted, so she started yelling repeatedly "pooped, pooped, bum, bum," and then got a diaper out of the bag and handed it to me...Drew and I were so embarrassed that Drew just grabbed her and took her out, and as she was leaving, I saw this big grin on her face! Drew and Sadie came back a short time later, and sure enough after a few minutes Sadie said "pooped". I checked her again and everything was fine. I told her she was okay, and then she started yelling "pooped pooped, bum, bum" again! It's then that I realize she's just saying that to get out of church! Drew and I were able to distract her with some crackers, juice, pencil and paper. She did bring it up a couple of other times during the meeting, but by then she realized we were on to her little scheme, so she eventually let it go :)

Congrats Drew!

Drew completed his second sprint triathlon yesterday in Orem. Congratulations honey!

This was part of his rigorous training....with Sadie as his coach! But really, Drew spent a lot of hours training daily for this race. We're so proud of him!

Naming Baby doll

Sadie has a doll at my mom's house that she loves to play with, and up until now its always been called "baby". But Sadie has recently learned to answer "what's your name, her name, my name, etc.", so the other day we ask Sadie what the baby's (doll) name is....I thought she would say Tessa or Kinsey, (her two baby cousins), but instead she says her baby doll's name is "Teisha", and she still continues to call her baby doll Teisha. She says my name as plain as day, and she knows that's my name, even though she calls me mommy most of the time. At first I think this is really cute, and then I think about and wonder if this is the first sign of insubordination? If so, we've got a long road ahead :)

Too much Pizza

You know you order way too much pizza delivery when the door bell rings and your 21 month old baby says "Pizza!! Pizza!!", when we didn't order pizza that night. Maybe it's time to cut back.

Girls will be girls

Sadie got this baby doll for Christmas and she has now suddenly become fascinated with it. She has to comb its hair and brush its teeth. She even likes to try and put ribbons in the baby's hair. It's so funny to me how she's fit into the role of "girl". (I didn't tell her to do the baby doll's hair.) Also, Sadie loves to have her hair done. She practically begs me in the mornings to do her hair. She also loves purses. She has a couple of her own that she likes to carry around and put things in...she's also obsessed with my purse....wanting to hold it and put it on her shoulder. She also has a shoe obsession! No joke! She lOVES shoes....even more than myself. She has to have them on her feet and she gets all gitty when we are at the store trying them on. In fact, the only time she throws a fit when we are at the store, is when we walk by the shoes and I don't try them on her. So it's now our routine to stop by the shoe section and try on a few. This has entertainment value for me too, because when she tries the shoes on she giggles with excitement. (Luckily we don't have to buy the shoes....right now she's content to just try them on). She also loves the word "pretty" and "cute", and most of the time when she says them she's referring to herself....her cute bow, bracelet, necklace (that she steals from me), dress, hair, and of course her shoes. She loves to show daddy how cute all of these things are on herself. I tried to get her to play with a couple of her cousin's toy trucks, thinking she might like something new, but she wanted nothing to do with the trucks. Girls are just wired to be girls and boys are wired to be boys. (most of the time)
