Beginners Luck!

Sadie went pee pee in her potty! I bought her a little trainer potty a few weeks ago and told her about it, and explained what happens. I then would have her sit on the potty, take off her diaper and put it in the potty, and I would tell her that's where the pee pee goes. Then a couple weeks ago, we were doing this same routine, then she stood up and walked around the bathroom for a little while and then came back to her potty, sat on it and peed! I was shocked! I didn't expect that to happen for quit some time. But as it turns out, it was only beginners luck, because she hasn't done it since. There have been a few times though, that she has walked over to her trainer potty and said pee pee, so I pull her pants down only to find that her diaper in warm, so she at least knows when she's going. I know she's still very young, so I'm not pushing her, and she only sits on the potty when she wants to, but I'm hoping that her eagerness to learn will save me monies (not having to purchase diapers) down the road :)

Tubes

After 6 ear infections, Sadie finally had tubes put in her ears on Thursday, March 5. The surgery went really good! She was such a trooper! The most difficult part was her not being able to eat anything that morning. She kept asking for a drink and something to eat, so I had to keep distracting her. Sadie entertained the nurses by making animal sounds. They were quite impressed with her speaking abilities. The surgery only takes 15 min. and they put her under with gas, so she woke up very dazed. We had to stay at the surgery center for a while, so they could make sure she was okay. All of the other kids that had the same surgery were screaming! and Sadie was just chillin' on my lap drinking her milk from a sippy cup. I don't think she cared about what was going on, just as long as she had her milk :) Actually, it was a very nice time for me, because Sadie was content to sit on my lap, which never happens. The funny part was that she was in slow motion for a a few hours. I gave her some crackers to eat when we got home and she slowly nibbled on them. Usually she tries to stuff as many as she can in her mouth at one time. Then she began playing with her toys in slow motion...it was hilarious to see her the opposite of what she's usually like. Sadie was never fussy or upset, so she did awesome; and hopefully our days of fevers, sleepless nights, and fussiness are over! Here's Sadie after her surgery. The Doctor gave Sadie this cute t-shirt to wear. I had to take a picture of her laying there, because this never happens. :)

15 months

Sadie had her 15 mo. appointment (and her 5th ear infection) a couple weeks ago and here's the stats:

head: 75%
weight: 50%
height: 50%

So she's doing really well!

Sadie finally got her top front teeth! I was begining to wonder if she'd be toothless! Her hair is starting to grow, but only in the back....so she has kind of a mullet thing going on...maybe by the time she's two I'll be able to put an elastic in her hair, but I'm not counting on it. I'm glad she's a good sport about wearing headbands and hats! She will not sit on my lap for more than 10 seconds, unless she has a sippy cup in hand, or I'm reading her a book. I can't even rock her to sleep anymore..she knows it's bed time and she just wants to be in her crib. She's a very good eater...hence all the energy. Her favorite new word is cracker and she says it as plain as day! She can actually say lots of words, (my favoite is "love you") and knows plenty of animal noises. She has such a fun personality! We went to the cabin over President's Day weekend, and had a little accidental sleigh crash (she has a little of her dad's adventurous spirit)...I'll tell you all about it and post pics later.

We love our baby girl!

Sadie is the cutest baby ever! (of course I may be a little bias.) She learns something new every day thanks to my wonderful babysitters- Mom and Cami Jo. She's 14 mo. old and she knows 3 signs now- more, please, and eat. Not only does she know these signs, but she uses them all the time- She obviously loves to eat :) Sadie loves to make funny faces at people when we're in the store. The clerks always get a big kick out of her- they laugh and then she laughs. Sadie is also getting pretty good at walking. She was taking her first steps at 13 mo. and now she's just starting to get good at it. She loves it when we sing the "monkeys jumping on the bed" song, because she can do the actions. She also makes pretty good animal noises. She knows what a cow, sheep, horse, pig, and lion says. She can say ho, ho, ho, (too bad Christmas is now over- she's still wondering where Santa Clause went), ah oh, all gone, mama, daddy, grandma, kitty, and she loves to wave bye, and blow kisses. She also loves to dance when there's music on...well I'm not sure that I would call it dancing...it looks more like she's having a spaz attack or something, but hopefully she'll grow out of that :) She also loves books. She loves being read to and turning the pages, so hopefully she won't grow out of that. Her hair is finally starting to grow! We're pretty sure she's going to be a blondie.

New Year

Christmas was great. Very busy as always, but lots of fun! Sadie was spoiled rotten by her grandparents :) The only thing Sadie really needed to make her happy was a box and some wrapping paper, and she was entertained for a long time!

We went the the cabin on New Years day with Drew's family. Sadie loved riding the sleigh and snowmobiles with her cousins- Courtlynn and Ty.

We also went sledding at my mom's house with all the snow that had fallen.

Happy December!

What a crazy couple of months! Sadie's first birthday was fantastic! She really put on a show for everyone! She didn't like her cake at first, in fact, she picked it up and threw it off her high chair unto the floor, but she still had some on her finers, which she began to lick and realized that cake isn't so bad :)

Then we went on our Greek Isle Cruise. We went to Venice, Italy; Debrovnik, Croatia; Ephesus, Turkey; Santorini, Greece; and Corfu, Greece. The wheather was perfect the whole time and the sites were amazing!
