Drama Queen

I understand that most girls tend to be dramatic, but is this really normal for a 2 year old?

When she had her shots it was really bad at the time, but once we left the doctor's office she was fine and it didn't bother her at all the rest of the day, until it was time to take a bath and I took off her pants and she saw the band-aid on her leg, and then completely came apart- "my owie, my owie on my leg! my leg broken! I can't walk!". (really? Because you were fine all day)

And speaking of doctor- every time we go, they test her oxygen levels by placing the test reader clip on her hand or foot (you moms know what a mean), Sadie looks at me with her big sad eyes, and with a whimper in her voice says "it hurts Mommy, owie it hurts". (really? Because I'm seeing other kids get this same test, and it doesn't bother them.)

She gets really particular about things. For example, the other day I was late for work, and still had to drop Sadie off at daycare, so I quickly put her jacket on, but did not zip it up- and you would have thought the world just came to an end. She screamed the whole ride to daycare. "my zipper!! Do up my zipper!", and then continued to kick and scream while I carried her in, and then threw a tantrum on the floor, so I gave in- did up her zipper, and then immediately undid it to remove her coat, and then everything was back to normal. (again- I say really?)

We've had a lot of wind the last few weeks, so when Sadie steps outside and feels that first gust of wind, she quickly puts her hands on her head and says "oh no, my hair, my hair!". (really?- you're 2. You're not old enough to worry about you hair.)

These are only a few of the dramatic incidences I've had with Sadie. Although, I was encouraged on Sunday, because I caught her playing in the dirt outside- so maybe there is hope that Sadie won't be such a girly girl after all!

That's funny! My boys do the zipper thing and stuff like that too. I just wish the little things weren't so BIG for them! It's amazing what can set off a huge tantrum! So much fun being a mom!

Oh I'm so glad to hear she does those things. I was wondering if Ava was the only one! Girls are so DRAMA! :)

That's funny - Cael does the zipper thing but he says, "Mom zipper NOW!" and it's for my coat not his :) He is mister prayer nazi too - we have to say 1500 prayers a day and he says like 1000 of them right before bed so it prolongs the going to bed thing! Don't you just love 2 year olds!
